This is the first project I had the chance to work with Matt Baron the rising young film maker savant in NYC. The experience of rolling unscripted across town with these fun bikers was reminiscent of adventures past and those yet to unfold. All this to queue people that the Standard Hotel group is launching the rescue of another phenom in the making.

Here was a day with Kenneth Willardt on a “Cover Coming to Life” shoot for Russian Glamour. Alex Kududokon Shot most and edited this BTS. I shot some BTS and worked mostly with my caon FD50-300mm long lens mongo lens, hunting new textures and flairs with Maryna Linchuk’s help.

Working on the Maybelline Job for Kenneth Willardt was a fantastic evolution of our business. Kenneth shot 26 short films in a week in conjunction with his shooting the print campaign. This is one of those films that Spencer Young edited. While Kenneth shot the print ads, I worked with the crew to design the light and determine the camera settings, then Kenneth operated camera and directed the girls to create an abundane of stunning media.

So simple, I spent a couple hours shooting on set with Gilt. They gave me 10 mintues with the model, and Kai Took it into the edit suite and turned it into this….

a day out with this years class of Nike Destroyers, NYC’s own. Kai Regan rolled his 16mm and i opp’ed the b cam. Lookin out the back of the van in brooklyn, since the very beginning, again and always.

This litttle BTS was special fun as we travelled to Miami to shoot Julianne Hough’s SELF cover with photographer Kenneth Willardt, stylist Evyan Metzner and their entourage during the swimsuit convention!

Maria Menounos dropped by my video set at Pier59 in NYC to interview herself on the tail end of this months Self Magazine cover photoshoot with Kenneth Willardt. She knows exactly what she is doing this girl, she admittedly will run three miles for a cheeseburger. Maria has her priorities straight…cheeseburger as a diet plan.

What a treat it was to be shooting on Kai Regan’s epic 24Hour ’round the world relay for the RED charity and thanks to the people at Red and Nike, JC in particular. New York was a powerhouse, Berlin was a summer all night treat and Paris was a sleep deprived hallucination. Get the word out and we will all get some 4Buck Laces and know we helped.

This was another GIANT setup that is one of the Stephen Wilkes specials. Because the light was so even throughout, there wasnt much for me to do during the shoot, so I ran the 5d that was layin around and tried to capture the intensity of Stephen and the “Fans”. Thanks Nick for editing this tight little vignette form our project.

The DKNY cozy film shoot was both a short art film directed by Kai Regan produced by All Day Every Day with East Pleasant Productions. Kai, AJ Wilhelm and I all operated camera and I was the credited DP on this one… While I thought we were a film production it turns out we were characters in an upcoming Bravo reality TV show with Kelly Catrone!

The night we went out with the Bridge Runners to document 24 runners running for 24 hours in turn was to raise awareness for the Lance Armstrong foundation’s Stages project. Leveraging Art to raise awareness for the fight against Cancer. This was yet again the brainchild of Kai Regan where Kai, myself and Aj Wilhem scooted, ran, biked and minivanned for 24 hours straight documenting the runners along the way. And big repsect to Kai who ran his leg at 2 in the morning of what is a sort of normally long day in this brave new world of ours.

I had a rather pleasant evening with Christina Ricci, Director Jake Sumner and DP Morgan Susser shooting in the Penthouse at the Soho Grand Hotel into the wee hours of the night. I both got to AC for Morgan and was 2nd unit camera operator on this one. Another HDSLR project with All Day Every Day and East Pleasant Productions.

I guess they pulled the embed option on this video so I will ask you to port over to youtube to see this film……the ad prelude is generating revenue to someone/where…. but what a crazy night this was…Working with Director Kai Regan and DP Carlos “the prince of darkness” Veron, we assembled a crew of 4 HDSLR cameras and shot this in the Lower East Side almost entirely with available light. The massive amounts of multiple angles gave us an enourmous amount of footage to intercut and it turned into a wildy productive night of shooting. This is emblimatic of this new highly productive era of multi camera shooting! In addition to Carlos and myself Joe Fornabaio and Aj Wilhem operated cameras and remained fixed on the Hot Mess entourage throughout the evening. We also had Mega G procuction aka Maghan Gutmen who came out from LA to make it all happen.
